Our u’6 team gave it their all and took their chances well to top their group in the mini league indoor blitz organised and hosted by Maree/Oranmore on Saturday. Indeed it was well organised and even finished ahead of schedule so hats off to the organisers in that regard. The blitz took the form of 4 teams in 2 groups, each team playing 9mins a side with 1min intervals. Strong competition was expected from big guns in our group, Maree/Oranmore, Cregmore & Knocknacarra but the scoreline flattered the Colemanstown team. In the 1st game vs. Knocknacarra, Jonah Donnellan claimed a hat-trick while David Walsh & Josh Price were also amongst the goal scorers as they beat Knocknacarra 5-0. In their 2nd game Josh Price scored a hatful while Conor Laffey & Ross Lally also claimed great goals. In their final game vs Maree/Oranmore they won 5-0, this time 5 scorers getting on the scoresheet; namely, Josh Price with his deadly right foot; David ‘Messi’ Walsh, Conor Laffey, Kalum Concannon & Jonah Donnellan. Colemanstown’s goal scoring celebrations alone were worth travelling to see particularly from Kalum Concannon as he would slide back to his own goal on every occasion, he has obviously seen his Dad perform similar celebrations! 4 year old Kyle Concannon had little to do in his spell in goal but competently dealt with everything that came his way. Well done to all involved, keep it up lads & thanks to Andy & Eddie Concannon for mentoring the lads on the day.
