Third Consecutive Draw for ‘A’ Team

Colemanstown A team played promotion chasing Dynamo Blues at home on Sunday. Colemanstown’s improving league form saw them claim their third draw in a row in the league. The poor under foot conditions meant it was difficult to play any sort of flowing football. Colemanstown had the better of the first half and were rewarded for a well worked move involving Kenny Duane, John O’Brien and finished by Shane Clancy. Blues did miss a penalty to equalise in the first half. Colemanstown went in 1 nil at the break. Blues started the second half the brighter and claimed an equaliser 10 minutes into the half.  A defensive slip in the box allowed Blues in to score.  Both sides had chances for a winner but the game finished 1 all.

Our under 15s played away to Cregmore on Saturday in the quarter final of the Divisional Cup.  We had the better of the chances in the first half with opportunities falling to Paul Lally, Keith Murphy and Ronan O’ Neill who were unable to find a breakthrough. The back four of Dylan Kelly, Gerard Warde, Alan Cannon and Ronan Carr all played well but in the last minute of the first half, the defence were caught off guard and with a good strike from the Cregmore attack  resulted in Cregmore going in 1 nil up at the break.

After some harsh words at the break and some positional changes, we started the second half with some great passing football and the midfield of Aidan Monahan, Lee Murphy, Keith Connell and Ronan O’ Neill put in great displays. Their efforts were rewarded when Keith Murphy’s fine effort drew the sides level and man of the match Paul Lally followed up with two further goals for a final score line of 3-1. Thanks to all the supporters that travelled on the day; it was very much appreciated.
