Colemanstown ladies prepare for action

2013 will go down as the year the ladies team resumed in Colemanstown. It has been a long 13 year wait since Colemanstown last entered a team to play in the Galway & district league and the legendary Kara Mullins who herself has had International Caps at U17 & U19 level will take up the role of player/manager. Kara has just recently returned from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania after spending 3 years studying on a soccer scholarship. Kara will be assisted by her father, Liam Mullins, an honorary President of the club, who was also one of the mentors behind the Ladies former League success back in 1998. Last Friday seen the official launch of the ladies team as Bernie Burke made an official presenation of the full kit to Kara on behalf of Burkes Colemanstown. Frank & Bernie have been top class sponsors and supporters of the club since its foundation in 1982 and yet again they have come up trumps. Thanks also to Pat McGrath, Monivea who has also been generous to the ladies. Training will commence this Wednesday at 7.30pm. Anyone wishing to participate whether for fun, fitness, craic or football can contact Kara Mullins on 086 1662097. We await the first fixture of the Ladies league scheduled for Sunday April 7th but I’m certain Kara will have a few friendlies organised before that as she’ll most definitely have all the ladies well geared up for the challenge.
