‘A’ Team defeated in Connaught Cup on penalties

Our ‘A’ team bowed out of the Connaught Cup on Sunday when they lost
to OLBC on penaties.  It was 1-1 AET, Colemanstown scoring on the half
hour mark, a piledriver from outside the box, from Conor O Grady.
OLBC levelled matters early in the 2nd half following a goalmouth
scramble.  It finished 1-1 after full time with no further goals in
extra time although Ritchie Lally & Ray Moran came closest to saving
the game from a penalty shoot-out. Albeit 2 great penalty stops from
Joe Flannery in the Colemanstown goal we were still unable to
capitalise and so lost out 3-2 on penalties.  We wish Ollie Crowe a
speedy recovery on the serious nose injury he sustained during the
game.

Our under 12 team also lost their first round Connaught Cup game away
to Ballisodare, Sligo at the weekend and so enter the Shield
Competition.  Final Score 3-2
