Stalemate in Carraroe

Colemanstown A team made the long journey to Carraroe to take on Mac Dara on Sunday. With the game being played on an astroturf pitch it took a while for the lads to adjust to the unfamiliar surface. The majority of the first half was played in the middle third of the pitch and the Colemanstown midfield of Kenny Duane, David Farrell, Joe Finnerty and Finian Fahy did an excellent job of closing down opponents. Colemanstown upped their own passing game in the second half and began to take a strangle hold on the game. With the tireless workrate of John O’Brien upfront we began to create some chances. We had the ball in the net on the hour mark but was harshly adjudged to be off side. Colemanstown had a couple more good chances to take the lead through Finian Fahy and Garry O Grady, but the game finished a stale mate, nil all.
