Under 11’s: Sean Hansberry 5; Corofin 0

Five goals from Sean Hansberry capped a dynamic, powerful and conspicuous performance by him against Corofin today. He grabs the headlines as managers Andy & Eddie Concannon have to be happy with this team performance on a cold Winters day for the rest of the onlookers. Michael Flattery, Michael Concannon, Eoin Concannon & Anthony Feeney (who also played for the under 9’s earlier in the day) grabbed a strong foothold in midfield from the outset and helped create plenty of early chances through Sean Hansberry who hit the side net and seconds later drew a great save from the Corofin keeper while Michael Flattery hit the woodwork. Corofin were then denied by Daragh Roche who made a superb save for Colemanstown. The resultant kick out from Roche was quickly worked up the field and 3 successive efforts from Dara Hansberry, Eoin Concannon & Dara Hansberry again drew 3 more fine saves from the Corofin custodian. Josh McGuire- Greaney then had his close range effort denied in his attempt to open the scoring. It was stalemate at half time but the floodgates opened in the 2nd half thanks in the main to a striking rampage from Sean Hansberry. He scored his first early after the restart following a goalmouth scramble but he found the tiniest gap to boot to the net. Minutes later he saw his driving effort from 20yards skim the crossbar as Daragh Roche then kept Colemanstown in the game when he spread himself well to make an exceptional sliding save but got injured in the process. Sean Hansberry got his second as play resumed and quickly followed with his third as he turned and shot from the right of the box. Mark Donnellan was the assist in his 4th as he fed the ball from the left flank while Michael Flattery came close with a trademark free kick only to be denied by the stretching keeper. Orin Burke’s hard work in midfield assisted in Hansberry’s 5th as he slotted the ball neatly under the keeper’s legs to cap off an intriguing display which saw him take centre stage. Thanks to Andy & Eddie once again for their efforts.
