U13’s coast to victory helped by Kellie Brennan hat-trick

This latest home victory for our u-13’s sees them romp nicely up the league table. Kellie Brennan gave them an early lead in the 5minute with a curling shot to the right of the keeper. The game belonged  to Colemanstown after that as these lads & lassies entirely dominated the game. Thady Moran then netted back to back goals; his first was a great individual goal where he himself did all the work before slotting neatly to the left of the keeper. It was a 3-0 game at half time as a reshuffled Colemanstown team saw some second half changes as debutant Harry Greaney, Kyle McGuire-Greaney, Eve Murray & Daniel Glynn were introduced; the latter introduced as a keeper. Kellie Brennan then scored back to back goals; her first was a well controlled ball from a free kick which she slotted under the keepers legs followed by a left footed drive after she rounded the keeper to claim her hat-trick. Harry Greaney slotted home No.6 when a ball broke nicely in the 6yard box and he sidefooted neatly to the net. Luke Mitchell pushed the lead to 7 when he converted from the penalty spot after he himself was taken down following a great run when he found himself clean through on goals with only the keeper at his mercy. Josh Brennan, who was switched to forwards late in the game, turned the screw with our 8th when he broke through the defence and slotted home from close range. Athenry scored from the penalty spot in the last play of the game to finish an 8-1 drubbing. This was a good team performance, one of their best to date and credit to the ever increasing squad and team management. U13’s are away to Loughrea on Saturday next at 10am
