U12’s share the spoils in March sun

Our u12’s took on Lakeside in warm mid week sunshine with a 1-1 draw probably the fairest result. Lakeside edged proceedings in the 1st half while Colemanstown battled well and carried the greater threat in the 2nd half. Colemanstown conceeded an early goal but our young heads kept battling with Jack Hughes, Michael Glynn & Liam Murray to the fore in defence, ably tidying up any loose ball which came their way. Darren Moran was rock solid in goals and could not be faulted for the early concession. Mossy Carr, James Barclay, & Shane Hynes had some splendid shots at goal; the latter’s penetrating runs a joy to behold while Carr & Barclay showed some great trickery and created many attacks in their bid to find an equaliser. They were finally rewarded when Geordan Kenny scored the all important goal on his 2nd attempt and his team’s 4th after Mossy Carr & Barclay were first denied. Colemanstown had a strong penalty claim turned down late in the game but in the end 1-1 was a fair result
