The old saying ‘the grass is always greener’ can be seen in reality at the weekend but when you get there it’s on a Footgolf course….. as final preparations are underway for the upcoming Footgolf weekend. The course is nicely taking shape as it is being rolled by our young farmers Catherine and Patricia Burke and this week Broderick Lawn Cutting have kindly offered their services and will put the finishing touches to the Footgolf fairways before the design team put the finishing touches to the holes, flag poles and finish the greens. If last year is anything to go by, this design team will create something that will instantaneously make all participants smile, wow and simply wonder in awe at the marvels of such efforts and work undertaken to perfect the course. You don’t have to be a sports fanatic to enjoy this event; it is suitable for all, even those who have never kicked a ball before!
Friday evening is a Team Event, run from 6 to 9pm (Three Ball Scramble). Registration for each team (maximum 3 people) is €20. Saturday is a singles competition (groups of 3 will play individual rounds with the winner completing the course in the least number of shots) with a men’s and women’s competition. Registration for the singles competition costs €10 per person. For any adult who feels like getting dressed up in their best golf attire on Saturday there will be a prize for “Best Dressed Footgolf Enthusiast”. Prize giving for the teams and singles competitions will be on Saturday night, 24th May in Burke’s Lounge, Colemanstown, where you can bop the night away to DJ Tom Broderick who is launching his official debut in the DJ world and is guaranteed to keep the party rocking. There is also a BBQ on the night with all you can eat for €5. We will also facilitate any persons/teams wishing to compete in the singles tournament/team event on either the Friday or Saturday once they have made a booking.
Sunday is a family competition, run in the afternoon from 2 to 6 pm. This competition will involve families of four playing a four ball scramble over the course with the winning family being the one to complete the course in the least number of shots. Family Registration is great value at €10 per family team. Prize giving for the family team event will take place on the Footgolf course after the last team returns to the starting point.

Participants turning up on the day with no pre arranged tee times will be assigned to a free tee slot, if available.
