Soccer action resumes

The Euros have not long finished, the premier league is now in its third weekend, the provision of our second pitch is well underway and local soccer resumes for our junior teams this weekend. So soccer fans get ready for another season of action packed football kicking off this weekend for our A and B team who get underway with last years cup competitions which weren’t actually played due to weather stricken time constraints last winter. The last few days have been quite busy getting paperwork and registrations in order in advance of our B teams outing in the Jack Lillis cup on Saturday when they play Dynamo Blues away in Tuam at 2pm. Our A teams first competitive outing is on Sunday in the Michael Byrne cup away to Mervue, 11am KO. Our reserves have to wait another while before they’re in action against neighbours Athenry on Oct 1st while fixtures for our U13 and U15 team have not yet been drawn up. So let’s hope an enjoyable sporting season lies ahead for players, managers and supporters alike. Hon the town ……
