On your bike for Colemanstown FC

A sponsored cycle organised by the A & B team management and club treasurers is scheduled for Sat 9th Nov at 2.30pm. It is regarded as one of the toughest cycling routes in the county!, commencing at Burke’s, Colemanstown proceeding to Tiaquin, via Curmacoo on to Tample Cross taking a left there down through the revitalised village of Gurteen, taking a left at Coppingers junction and past the 5th Century ruins of St.Kerrills Abbey and then passing the avenue leading to the renowned Quaker Farm built in the famine times before finishing at the original start point at Burke’s, Colemanstown. You will see this 16km stretch like you have never seen it before! Sponsorship lines are currently available from participating members at €5 per line which also entitles patrons to entry for the raffle on the night when trad group The Kings of Connaught will play in Burke’s, Colemanstown. This newly formed band are a young, talented and ‘talked about’ group of 6 lads of which Mark Costello, Skehana is a member. They play mostly Dubliners & Fureys music and recently supported Irish folk legends, The Wolfe Tones in their recent concert in Kilconnell. So, if you are looking for a challenge or want to challenge your friends or team members then get on your bike on Sat Nov 9th. Unlike other cycles, there will be no marshals controlling traffic flow or there will be no rest stops, once the clock starts at the start line it won’t stop again until the last cyclist crosses the finish line so if you fail this 16k cycle or get lost somewhere along the route, we’ll have no GPS tracking to find you! It is a cycle for everyone to enjoy both young and old and an easy route for everyone who wishes to participate. For any further details contact Adrian Burke on 087 9858675
