‘Killer’ knock-out in the Clayton Hotel

Colemanstown’s one and only white collar boxer made his maiden voyage in the boxing world on Friday night. Steven ‘the killer’ Broderick took on this latest challenge in the world of boxing when he squared up to work colleague Robert Corcoran in a fundraising event for Console organised by his workplace Medtronic in the Calyton Hotel on Friday night. ‘The Killer’ entered the ring to great applause by the large number of fans who travelled in support of him.  Steven was only introduced to boxing 3 months ago as he began a training schedule for this event. It paid dividends as he knocked out his opponent in the second round in an impeccable display of skill, jabs, body punching with both left and right hooks and showed great agility in his display. The entire event raised approx. €19,000 for this very worthy cause. This might be as good a reason as any for Steven to fail to show for the ‘B’ teams important league encounter vs Bohs on Saturday!! I’m sure he had a few bruises and a headache to shake off on Saturday morning!
