Thady Moran and Alan Naughton scored two goals apiece as David Gilligan’s under 14 side crushed Knocknacarara 6-2 in Cappagh Park yesterday evening. Thady Moran opened the scoring 10mins in with a cool finish and this opened the floodgates and it didn’t take long to get the 2nd through Mika Harun. Things went from bad to worse for Knocknacarra as Shane Burke scored the third in the first half to leave the score 3-0 at the break and so our boys received a warm welcome off the field for the break. Knocknacarra were given some slender hope after the restart with a good finish but Colemanstown were not in a forgiving mood as they added three more second half goals through Alan Naughton (2) who now claims 12 goals to date this season & another by Thady Moran. Knocknacarra got 1 back before the final whistle to put a bit more respect on the scoreline but our lads had done enough and more importantly everyone got a good run out. Final score 6-2.
