Our design team and green-keepers are currently pondering on the design of the footgolf course for 2014; should an extra river feature be added? should some shots be longer or shorter? Or was the course just perfect last year? Decisions, decisions! Even Frank’s poor sheep have excelled in manuring this green during the year but are now being turfed out of their “Field of Dreams” to make way for the Foot Golf Greens. For the last 11 months Frank Burke has had a manure management system in place for the collection, disposal and utilisation of this said manure. The committee are currently researching another fundraising option of selling this manure – could be the next big thing in Colemanstown!!!! It might be all a load of s**t but if it helps us to raise much needed monies to further develop our grounds why not go for it! Other than a commercially run Footgolf course which opened recently in Dublin, there are no other clubs offering people a chance to experience the footgolf phenomena, so please try it out, it’s a very different sport and those who participated last year will testify that it’s well worth the effort taking part. So come along to the Footgolf weekend and check it out for yourself! See if you have the touch to become CUFC Footgolf Champion 2014. Participants turning up on the day with no pre arranged tee times will be assigned to a free Tee Slot, if available. So dust off those boots and golfing attire and get ready for this event.
