Another win for the ‘A’ Team against a depleted college side

The ‘A’ team made it 3 wins from 3 as they continued their good form against a very depleted NUI side in Dangan last Sunday. Although our lads were under strength due to a number of players being unavailable and carrying injuries, they still carried out a professional performance and in the process scoring 5 goals. NUI went 1 up at the start of the game but Colemanstown responded through a fine effort from Ray Moran from outside the box.  The sides went in at half time 1-1. A couple of tactical changes from Gerry Moran were made at half time with the two Finn brothers swapping places with Jayo going in goal and Junior filling in at centre back beside Gary O Grady. NUI restored there lead at the start of the second half through a well take goal from their striker. Again, Colemanstown responded and equalised through Shane Bailey. Colemanstown began to get on top and further goals from Alan Finn, Paddy Mullins and a second from Ray Moran completed the 5-2 rout. Special mention for Jayo Finn who made an inspirational save towards the end to keep the 3 goal lead intact. One might say that Junior and Jayo are playing in the wrong positions after last Sunday’s display!

Team in full: Alan ‘Junior’ Finn, Alan Finn, Jayo Finn, Gary O’Grady, Ronan Geraghty, Paddy Mullins, Ray Moran, Matt Moran, Shane Bailey, Chris Sheridan, Kenny Duane.

They play their final game of the season against Corrib Rangers (away) this Sunday at 12pm.
