Our 1st team progressed to the last 8 of the Connacht Shield with a comforable 2 nil victory to Ballina outfit Hollister FC. Slippy underfoot conditions made a passing game difficult. Colemanstown opened the scoring through top scorer Derek Koloslovco when he got on the end of a Ronan Geraghty corner kick. We had opportinities to increase the lead with Trevor Mullins and David Farrell coming close. We eventually increased our lead through a Trevor Mullins strike. We missed some guilt edged opportunties through Richie Lally and Derek Koloslovco to finish the game off. Final score was 2 – 0.
A 45 club is presently being drawn up as a fundraiser towards the provision of a 2nd playing pitch and associated facilities. We are seeking a 3 year commitment from members, former players, managers or anyone who has a strong association with the club, the cost is 100E per year and is based on the lotto bonus ball.
