Our under 12’s put in an enthusiastic performance to earn the 3 points
which keeps them top of the table. Our midfield partnership of Ronan
O’Neill, Lorcan Molloy, Pierse Townsend & Stephen Kelly marshalled
well and were a constant threat on the counter-attack. Kieran Dowd &
the industrious Conor O’Neill showed great effect up front as they
combined well on 15 mins for the opener; Dowd providing the cross for
O’Neill to tap home from close range. Kieran Dowd could have had a
brace before the interval only for some exceptional goalkeeping by the
Corofin keeper. Colemanstown continued their foothold in the 2nd half
& were justly rewarded 5 mins after the resumption when Daniel
Masterson swung in a free kick for Ronan O’Neill to connect well from
the edge of the box. With 15 mins to go, Lorcan Molloy scored a great
individual goal showing great flare to make it 3-0. The back 4 of
Daniel Masterson, Davin Costello, Brian Connolly & Jack Kennedy
exerted great influence and showed calmness personified while Matthew
Ruane, Shane Lally, Jamie Carroll, Josh lane & Darren Brennan were all
introduced and played well to keep us top of the table.
Our depleted A team bowed out of the Michael Byrne Cup in a goal feast
against Ramblers. It finished 6-3. Matthew Moran, Ray Moran & Garry
O’Grady were on target for Colemanstown.
