U14’s advance in Connaught Cup

Our under 14 side continued their unbeaten form with a great win over Cregmore 4-2 to advance to Round 2 of the Connaught Cup.  They dominated from the off and enjoyed great freedom in midfield and found themselves 1-nil to the good at the break thanks to a well taken goal from Stephen Kelly.  Lorcan Molloy & Kieran Dowd showed their predatory instincts up front & scored great 2nd half goals to eke out a great victory for Bobby Masterson’s charges.  Under 15’s play Salthill Devon this weekend, the time & date of same have yet to be decided.

Our A team are back on track after a poor start with a comprehensive 4-2 win over Corrib Rangers.  Polish national Derek carved out the best in this victory when he showed lightening pace in his 2 well taken goals while also hitting the woodwork on two occasions.  Veteran Ollie Crowe scored the opener after 25 mins with a well executed header from a corner kick.  Sean Hardiman scored an exact replica minutes later when he rose highest to head home a well taken Alan Finn corner.  Stand-in keeper Alan Walsh had some decent saves while Ritchie Lally & Finian Fahy on his debut both anchored the midfield berth.
