Flan, the man in ‘A’ Team’s 9 goal stunning goal feast

There was a goal feast in Tuam yesterday evening under lights as Colemanstown just about edged a tight league encounter full of goals. Tuam went ahead in the first half from a long distance shot that deceived Niall Gelston in goal. Ray Moran set up Tomas Flannery for his 1st shortly after which set the tone until half time when both teams went in 1-1 at the break. In the 2nd half, Colemnastown went ahead through Flan again but Tuam scored a stunning equaliser shortly after with the assistance of the crossbar. Ray Moran then put us ahead after some nice link up play with our midfield partnership. Tuam equalised again through another long shot from distance from one of their midfielders. At this stage it was like a see-saw up and down and the nerves were apparent around Tuam. Colemanstown went ahead again through Flan from a Gareth Lally assist. Tuam equalised for the 3rd time in controversial circumstances where the referee adjudged the ball to have crossed the line despite it looking like Jayo Finn had done the necessary work in clearing the ball. Colemanstown got their just reward when Flan had the final word as he scored his 4th goal through a free kick near the death. Final Score: Colemanstown 5; Tuam Celtic 4. It was a game in which Tom Flan announced his arrival in emphatic circumstances as he blew Tuam away with his 4 goals. This was a great result for Colemnastown in poor enough underfoot conditions and will hopefully set Colemanstown on their way in the league.
