‘A’ Team’s defeat almost confirms relegation

West United’s 4-0 win yesterday in South Park as good as ended our A team’s hopes of a 3rd successive year in top flight football barring a miracle. The maths are stacked against us but God is good and there might still be a little bit of brief hope from elsewhere as we sit bottom of the table with Hibs left to play at home on Sunday next. We never really got into a gallop against West, although we created chances but were unable to finish as Connacht Cup finalists West had much more in reserve and were able to change up a gear or two when required to ensure a comfortable victory in the end.

Our ‘B’ team closed their season last week with a 3-0 home loss against Cregmore/Claregalway. The visitors took the advantage from the start and Colemanstown were playing catch-up with just the bare 11 players. We missed a penalty late in the game to pull back a goal. With 1 victory and 2 draws during the season, the less said about this campaign the better.

Meanwhile our U13’s who currently sit mid-table drew 2-2 at home to Oughterard late last week. Sean Hansberry & Ryan Noone supplied the goals with their 5th and 12th goals respectively during the year. Our U13’s still have 3 games to play: Barna Furbo at home while away to Cregmore/ Claregalway & Salthill Devon.
